Residents recounted encounters with unusual entities, describing visits to a remote Indigenous community nestled in the rural reaches of Peru during the night. These entities reportedly harassed the inhabitants and made an attempt to abduct a 15-year-old girl.

"These individuals appear to be of extraterrestrial origin. They are clad in a manner reminiscent of the green goblin from Spider-Man. I fired shots at one twice, yet it remained aloft. Rather than descending, it ascended and vanished," revealed Jairo Reátegui Ávila, a local leader belonging to the Indigenous Ikitu group residing in the northwestern province of Maynas. He shared these accounts with Peruvian radio station RPP Noticias on August 1st, expressing the community's apprehension about these perplexing occurrences.

"Silver is their hue, their footwear features round contours which facilitate levitation. They hover approximately one meter above the ground, exhibiting a red illumination at their heels," Ávila continued. "Their visages are elongated, obscured by elongated masks, and their eyes possess a somewhat yellowish tinge." News about these alleged extraterrestrial encounters swiftly proliferated across online platforms, captivating believers, skeptics, and internet detectives worldwide. Grainy videos uploaded by members of the Ikitu community were scrutinized in an attempt to decipher the situation. These reported sightings emerged in the aftermath of U.S. congressional hearings centered around unidentified aerial phenomena, igniting a global discourse about the plausibility of extraterrestrial life gracing Earth.

In early August, representatives from the Peruvian Navy and Police journeyed to the remote settlement, situated a ten-hour boat ride away from Iquitos, the provincial capital of Maynas. Their objective was to probe the anomalous disturbances that had unfolded. Recently, authorities revealed their belief that the culprits behind these incidents were associated with illegal gold mining factions from Colombia and Brazil. It is theorized that they have harnessed advanced airborne technology to sow fear within the community, as reported by RPP Noticias. The chief investigator in the case, Carlos Castro Quintanilla, conveyed that a substantial portion, roughly 80%, of illicit gold extraction in the region is concentrated within the Nanay river basin, where the Ikitu community resides.
